HISTORY.

Dave Mills and Stuart Fullarton formed Travel Welfare with one aim; to change the way travel welfare & compensation payments were administered. With over 30 years of aviation experience and direct operational and financial responsibility for Customer Services, they wanted to develop a better system of issuing Light Refreshment Vouchers (LRV’s). With regulation EC 261/2004 making compensation mandatory; failure to meet this regulation meant serious financial and reputational loss. A new digital solution was required.

To this end, Travel Welfare partnered with financial services provider Omnio Global (previously PCT) to create a Digital Payments Platform and Service (PaaS) that would administer welfare payments. Thanks to support from our first client easyJet, Travel Welfare became the first company in the world to issue digital LRVs. After successfully setting up operations in over 169 airports on 5 continents, Travel Welfare set out to develop another world first – replacing slow, inefficient and passenger unfriendly compensation that required lengthy claims processes with a real time, global, point of problem solution. That service is now available globally.

Travel Welfare continues to innovate and we are working on additional Plug and Play applications that address the many needs of our clients and digitalisation of the travel industry.
